He also helps in transferring pension and annuity money, if any, of the deceased person to the dependants of the deceased and assists the family with estimates of the costs of the entire funeral service.

He also has to work in collaboration with a lot of people and needs to coordinate with all of them for successfully accomplishing his jobs. He has to interact with not only the casket makers and flower sellers but also physicians and the clergy.

Last but not the least, it is essential for funeral directors to be able to offer some solace to the bereaved family on an unofficial level, in order to help them tide over the loss of a near and dear one. Though it is a crucial aspect of the job, a few funeral directors usually consider it a trivial responsibility.
