The Best Intruder Deterrent

One of the best ways to keep criminals from invading your home is by having a dog present. I like to believe my dog saved my life many years ago when an intruder tried to enter my home in the early morning hours.

Everyone’s heard the phrase about a dog’s bark being worse than his bite. In most cases that bark is enough to keep someone from invading the privacy of your home. It doesn’t matter what kind of bark, either. A prowler will be scared off by any barking dog, big or little.

Invaders of a home don’t want to be noticed. They don’t want a barking dog running over to them to pinpoint their whereabouts to the home owners.

I have a sweatshirt that says “when God created dog, He just sat down and smiled”. He had to. He put a part of Himself in every dog – to love us, forgive us, bond with us, lead us through blindness, and even to protect us. I know I have to smile when I think of how Venus, my German Shepherd of so long ago, scared off an assailant with her bark.

But maybe you can’t have a dog for whatever reason. Yet you live alone or you have a family you want to protect with whatever means are available. There are actually products out there to make a trespasser think you have a dog, a BIG dog.

One such product is called a Barking Dog Alarm System. It uses an electronic radar-wave sense control, which lets it detect motion through wood, brick, glass, even cement. When it detects an intruder within it’s range, it begins barking like an angry dog! No intruder is going to hang around to see if it is a real dog or not.

The biggest advantage to owning an electronic barking dog over a live dog is how much it will cost you in the long run. You only make one payment for the barking dog. You avoid having to pay for food, medical bills, grooming, boarding, or stuffed toys. And you don’t have to worry about leaving it home alone without food or water while you’re out of town on business or fun.

Once you have purchased the Electronic Barking Dog, your only other expenditure will be for batteries. You won’t have to hire someone to clean up what was once your back yard, or walk the dog after a long day at work, or find a place to put the pooper scooper. So maybe this is the way for you to go if you are not really into caring for a live dog or just don’t have the time, energy or money for one. It’s a great way to scare off intruders and can also be switched to a chime or an alarm instead of the bark. Protect your home and your family with whatever means are available.

I still think dogs are the best deterrent of all. But then, a German Shepherd named Venus did save my life once.
