The 2011 Scion TC gets a boost with a more powerful and efficient engine, a great set of 18″ wheels, a power electronic steering system, large brakes and new transmissions. This vehicle is a hatch back two door coupe that is well liked with younger automotive fans in the twenty-something year old range due to its price range and cool look. The average age of a Scion buyer is 26 years. What’s unique about the Scion is that it offers lots of cool gadgets and the ability for drivers to customize their ride, something that a lot of car owners appreciate.

The updated model receives a nice surge of power with the help of a 2.5 V4 engine with 180 HP and 173 lb feet of torque. This should be more than enough for the average person. The updated transmission consists of a 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic one which replace the older 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic. The updated engine will offer superior gas mileage and also be paired with a sport-tuned exhaust system. Fuel economy stands at 23 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the freeway. This car can go from 0-60 mph in less than 8 seconds.

This cool car offers lots of amenities for you and your passengers. The comfortable sport front bucket seats are also one inch wider than the older ones. The standard Pioneer audio system had earned high marks for its clear and powerful sound and includes a subwoofer and 8 speakers with 300 watts of thumping sound. This is comparable to audio systems found in costly luxury autos. The audio system is compatible with most MP3 players plus it is even possible to customize the audio face plate. There is also a convenient keyless entry available for your convenience and a panoramic moonroof in place.

Toyota has implemented a myriad of safety systems for this car such as side curtain and knee air bags, seatbelt pre-tensioners and 3 point anchor seat belts, anti lock brakes, a brake assist system, electronic brake force distribution and a tire pressure monitoring system. The exterior panels of the car also functions to absorb energy during a high impact accident. The car comes with a powertrain warranty coverage for 5 years/ 60,000 miles and basic coverage for 36months/36,000 miles.

The starting cost of the Scion TC is around $19k. The cost for a vehicle with an automatic transmission is a bit more expensive versus the manual one. If you are in the market for a practical and competitively priced car then this car would be a great choice; it’s young, hip and now sports an even more powerful engine.
