My cute little and adorable kids love cartoons, and, why not admit it, so do I, and I’m no kid. We like spending our evenings in front of the TV, or laptop, and watching some new cartoons. They’re more into “The PowerPuff Girls”, while I’m more into “Dexter’s Laboratory”, so we tend to argue a little, but we eventually come to an agreement.

The most common way to carry babies was to carry them in a cloth that is tied to the body just like a sling. This was the traditional practice in most parts of the world. The sling is made by knotting the cloth as in a sling hung over the shoulders. The child is carried either on the back or the front or the hips by the women whether they were traveling or at work. Portable cradles, travois, cradleboards, and baskets were in use earlier. The slings became popular once again in the 1960s with the introduction of structured soft pack. Frame backpack was used to carry toddlers and bigger kids on the back. Wraps became once again fashionable to carry babies when it was reintroduced in Germany. The ring sling was introduced in the 1980s. The pouch carriers came into the market in the 1990s. In recent years the Chinese mei tai modified with features such as padding has made it popular.

Currency is traded in the foreign exchange market. Barter was the preferred method of exchange of goods and services when these were restricted as in ancient times. Exchange of goods was the mode of transaction. The barter system became quite difficult when trade expanded. It became impractical. It became necessary that the trade had to be mediated with something else. That was when coins made of metals that had an inherent value such as gold, silver and copper, were introduced. Coins came to be used for buying and selling goods. It became a convenient mode of transaction. But coins became a problem when the good to be sold or purchased was of high value. Too many coins and too heavy coins posed practical problems. At the same time, trade continued to expand and spread. It was imperative that something had to be done to overcome the problem. Banknotes emerged to substitute coins as it was easy and light to carry around. At the beginning, the banknotes were attached to precious metals as the gold standard. This was however de-linked later. At present the value of the banknotes is what the government decree.

There are several objects that we use in our day-to-day life. Some of these objects are bare necessity for us to survive and some are luxury. Your economic condition and the place that you live in, determine whether an object is a basic need or a luxury. For example, a private jet might be a luxury for a person who is challenged financially. At the same time, it is a need for some of the executives in the corporate world. But, the person who is financially challenged can have his / her own transportation to fulfill his / her commute needs.
